Crucial Innovation, LLC is based in Boulder, Colorado and produced the Retül bike fit technology brand in 2007. With backgrounds in cycling, triathlon, and mountain biking as well as engineering, biomechanics, and sports marketing, the folks at Retül combined their passions and areas of expertise to deliver motion capture bike fit to the retail market. The Retül University bike fit school was launched in Denver in 2008, and grew internationally in 2010. Retül bike fit technology can be found in 40 U.S. states, Canada and Mexico as well as in South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. Retül bike fit systems are manufactured in and shipped from Boulder. Crucial Innovation continues to engineer new products including Frame Finder bike fit compatibility software (beta launched late 2010) and in September 2011 released Retül Müve, a dynanmic, adjustable fit bike. In September 2011, Crucial took on investment from Italy-based Selle Royal Group to aid in further research and development and to more rapidly advance the Frame Finder project. Retül has been chosen by many of the world's top athletes including Radio Shack, Sky, Geox, and Garmin pro cycling teams as well as Craig Alexander, Mirinda Carfrae, Julie Dibens, Chrissie Wellington, Chris Lieto, Laura Bennett, Timothy O'Donnell, Samantha McGlone, Tim DeBoom, Normann Stadler, Conrad Stoltz, Linsey Corbin, Joe Gambles, Hunter Kemper, Andy Potts, Mary Beth Ellis, Matt Reed, Lesley Paterson, and Dirk Bockel, all household names in the triathlon circuit.
